Liane Arruda is the Business Manager for the Innovation and Partnerships Office (IPO) where she leads the Operations team responsible for compliance, assurance, IPO systems, communications, and financial activities. This includes the compliance of LLNL’s portfolio of intellectual property licenses and Collaborative Research and Development Agreements (CRADAs), as well as the royalty distribution process.
Liane brings more than 25 years of experience in financial management, compliance, and cross-functional project leadership. Prior to joining IPO in August 2025, she was the Payroll & Benefits Accounting Division Leader in LLNL’s Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO). In a previous OCFO role, she was Corporate Controller and General Accounting Division Leader. Outside the Laboratory, Liane held executive finance leadership roles in the private sector, where she led finance, accounting, and organizational operations.
Liane earned an MBA from the University of Tennessee at Martin and a B.S. in Business Administration, with an accounting option, from California State University, East Bay. She also participated in the inaugural LLNL Leadership Institute Program.
