MELISSA LEWELLING is the Communications Manager responsible for developing integrated communications strategy, cross-platform content, messaging and program development to help the IPO Team multiply the impact of its tech transfer communications internally and externally. She joined LLNL and IPO in March 2024.

Melissa comes to LLNL with nearly a decade of experience in B2B, deep tech PR and content development for large global corporations, start-ups and R&D incubators. Her passion is translating complex topics into compelling, digestible storytelling that engages the right audiences for impact. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from San Jose State University with a degree in journalism, and considers herself a writer and storyteller first and foremost.

In her free time, Melissa enjoys dancing and being active in nature, creative writing, reading faith-based books and watching the latest movies or shows about coming-of-age stories or the human condition.
