
Candice Bila is the Business Development Executive for Entrepreneurship Programs within the Business Intelligence and Market Anlysis Group (BIMA). In this role, she leads efforts to foster innovation, accelerate technology commercialization, and cultivate entrepreneurial thinking. Candice is responsible for building the Laboratory’s innovation ecosystem internally and externally by providing LLNL researchers with entrepreneurship resources, facilitating industry partnerships, and managing key programs that help Laboratory staff and scientists translate big ideas into impactful market solutions. Her mission is to provide resources, coaching, and mentorship pathways that enable LLNL’s workforce to transform breakthrough discoveries into real-world impact and U.S. economic opportunities.
Previously, Candice served as Associate Manager of Technology Innovation at Boehringer Ingelheim. In this role, she supported internal teams in developing strategic Modeling & Digitalization project proposals. She also led a steering committee responsible for reviewing and funding proposals, managed the program’s budget and project portfolio, and negotiated and executed contracts with key partners.
She holds a PhD in Pharmacology from the University of California, Irvine and a B.S. in Biochemistry from California State University, Sacramento. Outside of her professional life, Candice enjoys gardening, traveling (mostly by cruise ship), and watching her daughters grow before her eyes.
