Intern

Lauren Dam is a recent graduate from Georgetown University, where she received her M.S. in Biotechnology, with an emphasis in Entrepreneurship. While at Georgetown, Lauren was able to fine tune her entrepreneurial skills by co-founding two Life Science start-up companies and compete as a Team Delegate in the Yale Healthcare Business Case Competition. Prior to moving to Washington D.C., Lauren worked for Scorpion, a Google-partnered technology company, and received her B.A. in Biology from Pepperdine University in 2018. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Lauren joined the Innovation and Partnerships Office virtually, under the mentorship of Dr. Hannah Farquar, working on building out a Software Distribution Web Platform for LLNL proprietary codes to bring fast, agile, and automated processes for public-private institutional collaboration and distribution, and protection of commercial rights. Lauren also worked on conducting market research and writing for Patent Summary Filings, as well as utilizing her past marketing experience to help automate the Lab’s marketing tools for data and analytics. Lauren has valued the people she has met at LLNL and the wealth of knowledge she received from this internship and looks forward to taking this experience with her to future career opportunities. Lauren’s next steps will be at Roche/Genentech in South San Francisco on their Product Development Regulatory Operations Team.
